Accutane and hair loss - true or false?

Accutane hair loss may not be an entirely true comment.  It has been difficult for the medical profession to tie the two together.  Proving that hair thinning or balding is tied to a drug may be challenging although Accutane packaging does say that the drug may lead to alopecia, but under very rare circumstances.  No one wants to lose their hair and they want to understand what is happening.

Although Accutane may not induce hair loss, it does cause some considerable side effects that you must be aware of before taking the drug.  Most common side effects include skin frailty, rashes, dry skin as well as decreased red blood cell formation.  All these things combined could very well lead to thinning hair or potential baldness.

If a drug can affect you body in the described manners above, it can very well impact hair growth.  Accutane hair loss is a hot topic of discussion.  It is imperative that you speak to your doctor before taking the drug so that you are clear about all the side effects.  If you are currently on the drug and are experiencing thinning hair, you may want to speak to a dermatologist about your condition.
